Waiting for a Miracle is the deeply personal story of a journey that transformed my faith—and ultimately transformed the way I understood God, my life, and what it means to truly trust Him.

I was a physician, wife, and mother who thought I understood faith. But through the lives of my two daughters, Kelly and Sarah, everything I believed about God, prayer, and trust was challenged—and ultimately transformed.

This book tells the story of my journey to Medjugorje and my return to the Catholic faith. Through what I experienced there, my faith became something far more than something I simply believed. I came away with a profound certainty that God was real, that He loved me, and that I could trust Him.

That faith would soon be tested in ways I never could have imagined. Through the lives of my two daughters, Kelly and Sarah, I learned that God can use every circumstance of our lives—even those we never would have chosen—to draw us closer to Him, and even draw others to Him through us, if we allow Him.

Their lives changed mine. They taught me that faith does not take away the difficult circumstances of our lives, but it can completely change the way we live through them. My faith did not diminish through what happened to our family; it deepened. And through it all, I discovered something I never expected: that profound joy and peace are possible even in the midst of circumstances we never would have chosen, when Christ is at the center of our lives.
