#166 - It Was Never Locked: A Good Friday Story of Mercy
On this Good Friday episode of The Cyndi Peterson Show, we reflect on one of the most powerful and hope-filled moments in the Gospel—the encounter between Jesus and the good thief, known as Dismas.
A man with no time left… no way to make amends… no chance to fix his past… simply turns to Jesus and says, “Remember me.” And in response, Jesus offers him everything: “Today you will be with me in Paradise.”
What does this moment reveal about God’s mercy?
And why do we so often struggle to believe that this same mercy is available to us?
Through Scripture, the wisdom of the Saints, and a moving allegory of a man standing before a door he believes is closed, this episode invites you to reflect on what may be holding you back—hurt, shame, fear, or the feeling of unworthiness.
Because the truth is simple, even if it’s hard to accept:
The door has never been locked.
God’s mercy is not something we earn—it’s something we are invited to receive.
This Good Friday, take a moment to pause, reflect, and ask yourself:
What is keeping me from trusting in His mercy?
And maybe, like Dismas, all you need to say is:
“Jesus… remember me.”
